Overview

The CBR Tester determines the California Bearing Ratio of soils, aggregates and stabilized materials for pavement design. A plunger penetrates the specimen at the standard rate through a proving ring while penetration load is read from the dial gauge, at both test speeds marked on the control panel (1.27 mm/min to ASTM D1883 / EN 13286-47 and 1.0 mm/min to BS 1377-4). GGC manufactures the complete machine in our workshop with start/stop and emergency stop controls, calibrated proving ring and adjustable crosshead.
