Los Angeles Abrasion Machine
Los Angeles abrasion testing machine with rotated steel drum and digital counter for aggregate hardness and wear resistance testing.
Overview
The Los Angeles Abrasion Machine measures the resistance of aggregate to degradation by abrasion and impact. The steel drum, mounted on a heavy fabricated frame, rotates the sample with a specified charge of steel balls; the resulting loss of material grades the aggregate's hardness and durability for use in base courses, asphalt and concrete. The digital control unit counts and displays revolutions, stopping automatically at the set count.
